15 Feel Good Films
It’s safe to say at the moment that things aren’t the best, or necessarily good even. So we’ve been having a think about those films we watch to help bring our moods up. They’re not the best films, they’re not always award winners or box office dominating. They’re films we’ve seen hundreds of times and we can recite the lines word for word. The rainy day films that can’t help but put a smile on our faces.
So I went round the office (virtually, not in person) and asked a couple of others to send over theirs and here’s our top 5 feel good films.
Dan

Terminator 2: Judgement Day
I like to joke I was raised on this film. I could say ‘hasta la vista’ before I could point out Spain (or Mexico) on a map. It’s dumb but it’s fun.
The Muppets
A litmus test for if you’ve got a soul or not. You can’t help but feel happy after watching it because as they say ‘life’s a fillet of fish…yes it is’
Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
Star Wars is ingrained in every part of my life, for my whole life, from socks to lunchboxes, blu-rays to comic books, I’m probably at my most comfortable watching Star Wars and what’s better then the ultimate good vs evil triumph that is Return of the Jedi.
Good Will Hunting
Wasn’t until I watched it that I realised it’s about ‘Will Hunting’ the character and it’s not about a ‘good Will’. Between Damon and Williams I don’t need to explain why this film is great. Watch it.
It’s A Wonderful Life
I guess what I need to explain/confess is that I watch this all year round. If you’re not teary eyed and feeling grateful after it, then what’s even the point.
Rebecca

Lion
It’s heartbreaking but at the same time the journey feels uplifting. Dev Patel’s performance is incredible. “Even the most cynical won’t be able to resist the heart of Lion”.
Begin Again
An easy, fun watch with a good natured, authentic and charming story. Though this is personal preference as many others would say ‘Once’ here instead.
Paddington
Just lovely and heart warming. Watching it feels like eating a box of chocolates.
Little Miss Sunshine
I could watch it again and again. While many are locking down with their families, arguments are inevitable and it’s hard to think of any other films that capture the beauty and humour in family dysfunction like Little Miss Sunshine.
The Terminal
Never fails to put me in a good mood. Funny, entertaining, inspiring and all about how to make the most of an isolating situation in ridiculous circumstances, highlighting simple acts of kindness. Also you just can’t go wrong with a Spielberg film starring Tom Hanks.
Chris

“I do love a good underdog drama movie don’t I?
Green Book
This Film blew me away. A great story and incredible performances that gel so well on screen. If you haven’t seen it, I can guarantee this film will make you escape for 2 hours.
8 Mile
I think secretly we all wish we could rap like Eminem. This movie has characters that are so strong and likeable right from the off. Plus Eminem’s performance is just so raw.
The Help
I think this is the movie that made me fall in love with Octavia Spencer!
The Blind Side
I remember watching this film twice in a row on aeroplane and it was even better second time round. It’s a movie that’s great to watch with someone who hasn’t already seen it. Sandra Bullock steals the show.
The Shawshank Redemption
I’m losing count as to how many times I’ve seen this film, but it’s definitely close to 15 times I’m sure. It’s crazy to think this was considered a flop on its release”.
